Learning and teaching should consume large portions of librarians' days, but even those organizations with significant resources devoted to instruction have trouble keeping up with demand. Effective teaching takes extensive preparation and on-going maintenance to remain fresh and relevant. That's where our team of training professionals can come to the rescue! With extensive experience in developing and implementing research instruction courses in law schools and firms, we offer several training programs for law students, practicing attorneys and legal assistants, including:

Performing Research Effectively

This course explains the elements of research in practice through a series of modules. Topics include Short Cuts to Cases, Mix and Match Your Media Options, Make the Most of Statutory Research, and Conquer Regulatory Research.

Supervising Research Effectively

Tired of redoing your associates' research? This short course can help you help them and reduce those write-offs! This short course is aimed at senior associates and partners who supervise the research efforts of others and covers easy techniques for improving the quality of research and reducing wasted time and effort.

Research in Practice

If you just didn't learn much research in your first year program, this course is for you. It is based on a full semester course Professor Callinan teaches at Georgetown University Law Center. We can customize this "research boot camp" to reflect your practice needs.

Research for Legal Assistants

Legal assistants often provide research support to their attorneys. This course helps maximize their effectiveness by explaining research tips and tricks. It is based on a six-week course Professor Callinan taught at a large Washington, D.C. law firm for several years.
